John has practiced law in Ottawa since 1978, primarily as a civil litigator and trial counsel. John has conducted many civil trials throughout Eastern Ontario and has appeared many times in the Ontario’s appellate courts. He has presented twice at the Civil Litigation Conference conducted by the County of Carleton Law Association (CCLA). He has taught the intensive Trial Advocacy Course at the University of Ottawa's Common Law Program since January 2012. John is responsible for the advocacy training programs at MBC Law (formerly McBride Bond Christian). In 2019, the CCLA awarded John its prestigious Carleton Medal as being “most deserving of recognition for great diligence, high ideals and outstanding leadership in the practice of law throughout their career. Those who will receive the medal will have made a significant contribution to the profession of law”.
Kas Rehman is a Chartered Professional Accountant, Chartered Accountant and Certified Fraud Examiner and is certified in Financial Forensics. He is also the President of the Ottawa Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Kas is a graduate of Concordia University where he received his Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1989. He received his Graduate Diploma in Public Accountancy in 1991 from McGill University. With over 25 years of professional experience he has been involved in a number of high profile investigations on behalf of public and private sector clients. His investigations have included contribution agreement spending and claim irregularities, contracting irregularities, billing schemes, administrative inquiries, domestic and foreign corruption and other investigations involving allegations of fraud or wrongdoing. He has worked on behalf of, or in conjunction with Federal and Provincial departments and agencies, Crown Corporations, public and private corporations, legal counsel, insurance companies and police authorities. He has prepared numerous expert reports for both plaintiffs and defendants, relating to the calculation of damages in a variety of cases involving fraud, breach of contract, personal injury, wrongful dismissal and other commercial and personal disputes. He has prepared reports on various insurance related matters including business interruption, property loss, fidelity bond, personal injury and professional negligence. Kas has appeared as an expert witness with respect to damage quantification in the Ontario Superior Court and the Federal Court of Canada.
